Note: The following info covered in this installment of Project Stardust Memories covers info about the team dynamics and other such info. So enjoy the profiles of the chars above from left to right.
-Heian Snow
-Age: 23
-Species: Wolf
-Ethinicty: Aurorian
-AG Position: Leader
-Main Talents: Hand-to-Hand combat, close-range firearms, piloting Aurorian reactor-powered ships, ice and Aurora-based powers as well as speed from Aurorian blood, unwavering bravery and unshakable resolve to protect the people he loves
-Main Weaknesses: Lacks formal military training, emotionally attached to the outcome of missions, sometimes disobeys orders he finds unreasonable, impatient, takes heavy risks with his strategies, refuses to rely on indirect warfare, cannot pilot a ship specifically tuned to his faster reaction time, and not good with far range combat when outside ship
-Evaluation: Heian is a new generation of pilot that although many people had reservations about is giving the military brand new life not seen in ages. Perhaps one of the youngest people to be under General Preston's badge personally, Heian has the kind of spark that is revitalizing military moral and gives inspiration to an otherwise jaded society that finally seem to be bringing people together.
Despite this, he comes with some VERY serious baggage that normally would never be put up with. The fact his previous status before this was that of a civilian is very troubling, since Preston had turned away a much safer and more reliable candidate in Miyu Lynx in favor of a young and reckless punk who has not been tempered by the required military training that'd make him a well-trained soldier. As a result, despite having the talent, he lacks the military mindset that is very badly needed in this line of duty and has not abandoned the personal sentimentality that could potentially kill him. In addition, despite Miyu being put on the team to advise Heian as second-in-command to be like the Peppy figure of the team, Heian refuses to listen to any of her advise and is even rumored to have gotten into fist fights with her over combat tactics though there is no proof to indicate if this actually happened.
Heian also would not cooperate until he had his girlfriend, Rosetta, protected under the Aurora Guardians badge despite the fact she had almost no fighting and piloting capabilities. Were it not for her mind-reading abilities, Heian would've been asking for the impossible. Heian may indeed be looking out for the ordinary person, due to being swept straight from civilian life, but has no intention of adapting the thinking of way more qualified generals who know what they're doing. Preston's decision of making him leader is questionable, since normally such a position is reserved for someone more like Miyu Lynx.
-Rosetta Stone
-Age: 21
-Species: Fox
-Ethnicity: Cerinian
-AG Position: Healer/Cook
-Main Talents: Mind-reading, cooking, healing powers, limited energy projection, can help even the most hostile of teammates get along
-Main Weaknesses: Almost NO combat ability, physically very weak, lacks training as a pilot, easily scared by blood and dead bodies, too delicate, refuses to fire a gun at someone without extreme strain, too girly for more active military service, too timid to make use of her select abilities in battle
-Evaluation: Rosetta is exactly the kind of person you DON'T want in the military. She's extremely girly, scared very easily by the horrors of combat, lacks any sort of military or informal training, does not have applicable behind the scenes skills for military work, and shuns violence. The only reason she's even on the team is because Heian insisted he wouldn't join without her with him, which on any other day would NOT be negotiable. It's amazing what happens when Preston recruits someone out of desperation and is willing to do to keep that one person
namely Heian.
Despite this, not all hope is lost with her thanks to a select few skills that cannot be found in anyone else known in the Lylat System. She has REAL mind-reading powers that can actually detect what other people are thinking unlike Krystal who can only sense thoughts and emotions according to public knowledge, has limited energy projection even Heian lacks, and has enough charm to keep otherwise hostile teammates from killing each other (which is very helpful with the constant clashing of Heian and Miyu). She's also one of the only people Heian won't disobey if she does ask him for something, which makes an otherwise extremely stubborn young man a bit easier to work with. With all these niche skills, it cannot compensate effectively for the fact she's too timid to make the most of whatever magic abilities she may have, leaving her as little more than moral support for the AG's
though she can also heal injured teammates, which makes her a bit more useful.
Rosetta has received some basic pilot training from Preston personally so she's not hopefully lost should she be dragged into combat. However, she is highly undesirable for combat in general, due to her refusal to take up more violent behavior (which normally needs to be toned down in people in this line of work) and her refusal to wield weapons. In this line of work, self-defense will not suffice in a world where the initiative is needed at all times. It is perhaps best she stays to the sidelines until she can complete her piloting training and just keep the more active team members happy on the mothership.
-Miyu Lynx
-Age: 29
-Species: Lynx
-Ethnicity: Unknown (Allegedly Cornerian)
-AG Position: Second-in-Command
-Main Talents: Can wield all kinds of firearms, experienced tactician, calculative and rational thinker, professional attitude, able to proficiently pilot all kinds of military vehicles, can effectively give AND obey orders, patient and can conserve strength for more opportune moments, can effectively conduct indirect warfare
-Main Weaknesses: Doesn't like to take heavy risks without extensive planning to ensure success, thinks WAY more conservatively compared to Heian or even General Preston, constantly clashing with Heian and Preston in contrast to her usual obedience, usually holds back her emotions to the point of almost complete heartlessness, intolerant of unprofessionalism in the military, has a Machiavellian take on military affairs
-Evaluation: Miyu is an example of a classic military ace pilot much in the vein of Fox McCloud (and her possible inspiration), being able to wield all kinds of weapons and operate different vehicles and ships proficiently, think on the broader scale of military warfare, take and receive orders on an as needed basis, and makes use of well-thought out and prepared tactics to ensure success in combat. She is perhaps one of the best pilots within the military who can potentially rival the skills of Fox McCloud and may be a valuable ally to him if the two ever met. All in all, she's a perfect soldier whose tempered by military training and thus can suppress her emotions to do what she needs to do.
During the planning for forming the Aurora Guardians, she had approached Preston in the interest of becoming the leader of this new elite team, given her record in the military. By all normal means, she should've indeed been the leader of the AG's, since she had all the qualifications she could ever need for being the leader of her own team and the ambition. However, Preston had accused her of being nothing more than a mindless robot, stating he needed new life to the military he felt Miyu could not deliver on. Although Preston's decision to recruiting Heian as the leader in place of her is questionable, he has indeed given a few valid reasons for making his decision out of the numerous complaints about Miyu.
One of the biggest reasons Preston turned her away was because of Miyu's reputation of being emotionally cold and distant to people, way beyond the usual humorlessness of most soldiers. Although she's very professional, it's that same professionalism that sometimes works against her on a person-to-person level, since she'll carry out a mission and accomplish it regardless of her teams' complaints. She firmly believes in centralized authority on a mission along with the additional fold only a professional trained soldier with the proper experienced should shoulder such a responsibility; this may be the reason as to why she currently clashes with Heian on the Aurora Guardians as well as Preston's orders for her, since she openly expresses her opinion on the two being young punks who have no business trying to meddle with the flow of the military. She further discredits Preston by the fact he had become General via open rebellion against Peppy, viewing this as the ultimate display of disobedience and unprofessionalism not even topped by the fact Preston recruited Heian, a civilian not formally trained in the military to fight like a professional soldier.
She's also incapable of relating to people, seeing only the military objectives in battle and aims to accomplish them without trying to bond with the rest of her team. Although she's got the brains, brawn, and beauty in one well-rounded package, her inability to relate to people will drive away all but a select few away from her when off the battlefield. She may be destined for a life of battle without any sort of emotional satisfaction
assuming she goes unaffected by Heian, who was recruited for the new spark of life he has been proving to bring to the military.
-Fay Spaniel
-Age: 22
-Species: Dog
-Ethnicity: Cornerian
-AG Position: Communications Officer/Mechanic
-Main Talents: Has extensive skills for repairing damaged ships, can make basic repairs to an Aurorian reactor, can build ships and vehicles for the team, is the only member of the team who is truly skilled at piloting a Landmaster, is also the only member of the team who has a license for making and handling explosives, can make communicators that get reception just about anywhere, overall very intelligent
-Main Weaknesses: Has the mindset of a young teenage girl (equaling a lack of maturity), overly bubbly and hyper, is VERY clumsy, very shy around Bill Grey, refuses to drink alcohol even for parties, does not like to fight
-Evaluation: Fay is ole General Pepper's granddaughter
who happens to look and act nothing like him. While Pepper was an old man, Fay is a hyper-active girl who is locked in the mindset of a young teenage girl and thus is very immature. While infinitely better trained that Rosetta and the kind of mechanic none of the other members could be, these skills being applied to a military atmosphere can be questionable. There is no doubt of her intelligence, since unlike past mechanics like StarFox's own Slippy Toad, she actually has a good amount of brains to her and has the cuteness to convince people she's right. Like Slippy, however, she's very clumsy and even more so than the toad
which is scary for the Aurora Guardians, since she's the only person on the team authorized to make and handle explosives first hand. Her hyperactivity could also possibly cause explosives to go off while she's working with them, which could cause severe injury to herself assuming she lives.
Given Landmaster piloting skills is sorely lacking on the Aurora Guardians and Miyu only has average skills with the vehicle, Fay is also the only member of the team to excel with the Landmaster. This is surprising, since Fay is far more hyper than even high energy Heian and doesn't like sitting still. She also generally gets along with everyone on the team, since she specifically has the mindset of a young teenager eager to make friends
which works well for her, thankfully. This friendliness, however, inhibits her willingness to kill in battle, since like Rosetta she's generally overly bubbly and nice and refuses to kill people. Unlike Rosetta, however, she is trained to use such weapons proficiently and can actually fight as will as pilot ships. Nevertheless, that does not lessen her disliking to fighting. Perhaps some candy and soda can make it easier to get her to cooperate, but given she acts like a child, that still may not ensure her cooperation. This could be another niche area Rosetta would be useful in.
-Kursed
-Age: ??
-Species: Fox
-Ethnicity: Cerinian
-AG Position: Telepath/Weapons Expert
-Main Talents: Mind-reading skills, has knowledge on Aurorian reactors and how to mass produce them, has access to dark magic, can wield a wide variety of weapons from striking weapons like staffs to high power firearms like bazookas, acrobatic, efficient in stealth, strong sexual charm that can lull enemies into false security
-Main weaknesses: Emotionally and mentally unstable, experiences outbursts of violence, acts overly perverted and slutty, feels she's little more than a hooker, suffers from severe depression, possessive of men she likes, sadistic in battle
-Evaluation: Believed to have been Krystal, it comes as quite a shock Kursed is actually a cloned twin of her and thus must be treated as a separate girl. Overall, she's perhaps the greatest sex bomb ever conceived to the point she's shameless about how scandalous she acts sometimes. Despite this, she is actually a mind-reader who is effective in combat and can wield her magic to its fullest capabilities. This capability, however, also has a tendency of extreme violence that can be attributed to someone who is bi-polar. Between a lusty desire and constant fits of rage, she no doubt has the mentality of a killer which leads to the question as to who cloned her
doesn't help the fact she can't remember who made her. It's thanks to her, however, that we gained access to mass produced versions of Heian's Aurorian reactor from her ships and the cut-throat who tried to control her, Roark O'Donnel
can't believe Wolf had a brother he has never mentioned all these years to even Fox McCloud.
Kursed's combat capabilities can rival Heian's, but is more weapon oriented though the weapon could be just about anything she holds In fact, even a lead pipe can turn deadly in her hands if she gets enraged. The only reason Heian's even safe near her is because he had set her free from the puppet strings Roark tried to control her with though why he took her into the Auroria Guardians despite her questionable sanity is beyond anyone's comprehension. Kursed has shown some signs of recovery while staying with the Aurora Guardians and unlike Rosetta has proven to be very lethal in combat and even has the kind of training imprinted into her that'd normally take years of training according to DNA tests done on her. There was also an unknown coding in the DNA indicating a second imprint though what that is remains unknown.
One major problem Kursed suffers besides her mental sanity is her state-of-mind, given her get-up is often extremely provocative and slutty to the point of shamelessness. It's almost as if she was cloned specifically with a genetic imprint to be someone's killer sex partner though this can't be proven as of now. This could explain her otherwise uncontrollable sexual innuendo almost as if she desired something to compensate for something she never had. Further details on this imprint are unclear, but some of it appears to have altered parts of her brain that control her appetite and digestive track, which also take on certain characteristics of a virus. One can only hope this doesn't become a problem in the future.
Despite having the looks, the curves, the strength, weapons, and training she had, none of it could make up for the fact she felt broken up inside for being nothing more than a puppet. No one knows not who she could find she'd feel loved by, but Heian and Miyu both thought of someone they felt would want Kursed for everything she is
-Panther Caruso
-Age: Classified (Older than he'd like to be)
-Species: Panther
-Ethnicity: Unknown (Allegedly Cornerian)
-AG Position: Ace Pilot
-Main Talents: Well-rounded pilot, flirting (?), has knowledge on the crime rings in the Sargasso Space Station, can make fully-functional improvised weapons, good with spy gadgets
-Main Weaknesses: Refers to himself in third person, flirting, possibly still loyal to Star Wolf, conceited and embarrasses his teammates easily, acts like a huge diva, extremely vain, refuses to go anywhere without a red rose in his hands
-Evaluation: Panther Caruso is perhaps the most conceited, vain, and fussy person in all of Corneria which makes anyone wonder as to how he survived on Star Wolf for so long much less not get killed by Wolf O'Donnel personally (which may very well happen now). The only reason Panther was recruited onto the Aurora Guardians was because he was smitten over Kursed to the point he ditched Star Wolf to be with her despite Heian's protests to him being with the crew, which are very much valid. As a former criminal, Panther is perhaps the biggest danger to the reputation of the Aurora Guardians, given his former and possibly still binding loyalty to Star Wolf as well as the fact he still has a bounty over his head. It's been long since a criminal was swept into the Cornerian ranks to be beaten into shape and reform himself to a soldier
perhaps such a practice was meant to remain dead.
Even more so than Miyu, Panther's skills in piloting are in the vein of talented mercenary pilots during the Star Fox team's prime years, due to being a mercenary pilot himself under Fox's rival. However, he is also a prime example of the kind of people allowed to run free during the military's weakened tenure under Pepper's lead and thus will very likely be the target of Preston's rage for many reasons (including the fact Preston didn't approve Panther being on the team). He is also an example of pure arrogance, given he technically invited himself onto the AG mothership with custom "Black Rose" Wolfen. Heian has openly stated he did not want Panther on the team and the only reason he keeps him is because Kursed happens to love a pre-Madonna like him though whether it's true love or sadistic possession is a mystery no one wishes to solve.
Some of the most serious baggage Panther comes with is the fact he refers to himself in THIRD PERSON, which irritates both enemies and allies alike to the point they want to kill him. How Kursed is immune to this is a mystery. His overall diva mentality is another gigantic problem, given he refuses to go ANYWHERE without a red rose on his persona, he's fussier about his looks than just about every girl out there, he hates having even a tiny speck of touch him, and he can't stand having any sort of scratch on anything that's his or on his person. Thank god he has a red rose on the side of his ship so he can leave the real rose on the mothership though may god have mercy on anyone near Panther if a speck of dust gets on him, something scratches him/his belongings, or the rose is defiled for any reason. In addition, he has a reputation for being a faithless cheat on women, since he considers himself a lady's man, which makes anyone wonder why Kursed is still with him if she can read minds.
Finally, the most serious baggage of all is that Panther has not formally renounced his ties to Star Wolf, since his only reason for being with the Aurora Guardians was to be with Kursed. As a result, he does not share the same sense of obligation to the team even Miyu feels to the team despite her clashing with Heian. This possible opening for betrayal can leave the team open to attack by the hands of Star Wolf and their allies. Heian better pray Kursed is brainwashing Panther to keep him from turning on the Aurora Guardians, given she's the one who brought him onto the team in the first place.
